Ah! I'm all over this. I just whittled a coat hanger with a kitchen knife but now to get some real materials. This isn't prison. Haha.
Have any of you seen these tutorials for resin hair sticks? Decided I would try to do some of this.

My first attempts have been rather ugly and clumsy.
Will post some pics soon,

If you are working with any kind of resin, be sure you wear a respirator with the correct filter cartridges and if you are working indoors you must have fresh air circulating for the entire time the resin cures. Also, wear disposable gloves.
Most resins will be flexible as a hair stick or fork and will not have the same feel as a commercially cast acrylic. I can tell the difference by feel between the sticks that OutNumberedNovelties made custom and the commercial acrylics. They are still functional, but the resins have more give and depending on the exact resin used I think others who have played with stick and fork casting found that they didn't like the amount of give.

Mod hat off. Mod hat on. Don't make me wear the mod hat, it messes up my hair. *grin*
This is more of a "hairtoy I'd like to make" rather than one that I've made.
Has anyone made hairsticks out of pewter flatware?
I have mini spoons (I'm assuming they're pewter. There's no silver number and it doesn't say stainless, and it's a bit grayer and duller than steel) that are meant for serving spreads, but they pit badly in contact with acidic food. The handles are still intact and quite pretty and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for how I could remove the spoon bowls and shape the tip. I think they'd make pretty mini sticks.
