Sarahlabyrinth! I just tried this, I absolutely love it. I usually do comet buns, but they eat up the length (and the weight of the bun part usually pulls the whole thing down anyway eventually) I'll have to get someone to take a pic for me, I'm not very skilled with my camera's timer. This bun also lets me wear some toys that were too short, now they work!

Feeling that too my ponytail looks very thin. If I take a smaller section, I'm afraid I'm going to damage the ends wrapping it, because my hair tapers down so small. Will give it another go when my hair is freshly washed and poofy.

Grew from shoulder to thumb length in 7 years without trims. Now maintaining.
There once was a girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good she was very, very good. But when she was bad she was horrid.

it's really hard for me to section my hair but i can actually do this style of the month! It seems to work best if i divide my ponytail evenly in half. Definitely gotta use a fork, thought the pictures with sticks are so pretty! (i also love that the action shots are doubling as length shots here) I'll try to get a picture later.

also, you are so cute Saralabyrinth! And i love that i can see the dutiful SO in the mirror...the things guys do for their longhairs!

it'd probably be better with a smaller fork but this was the first one i picked up. Actually this would be cool with a flexi, has anyone tried that yet? I made it with exactly half of my ponytail (or as close to exactly as i'll ever get), then wrapped it around all but the pinkie finger like i normally do with lwbs. It's really comfortable!

Ooh I was all defeated by the Hairstyle of the Month in January, but this one I've totally got!! And it's super comfy.

I cheated a little, though, (well, I don't know about cheated...modified, for sure)...I wrapped the bun section around my fingers 3 times before wrapping the remaining tail around base of the pony--made my little bun a bit "fluffier" and let me use more of the hair in the pony tail...that might work for others with finer hair? (Its similar to wrapping double loops for the regular LWB, which I do all the time or the center gets too tall for comfort).

I love this style! It would look really good with a smaller sized flexi8. I can't wait to try this but I dont have any immediate hair toys to try this. When my you-pins come in I'll hopefully remember to post a pic

Sarahlabryinth, this is an amazing idea! It's cute, totally hair friendly, and you never have to worry about your elastic stretching and breaking.

In retrospect, maybe I should have used a larger section, so you could actually see the wrap...

Wavy, wurly, sometimes curly; on my way to healthier, longer hair!
