I donít know how the weather is where you are, but itís been particularly humid here, which always makes my hair more prone to tangles.

What works for me personally is: avoiding proteins and anything else that I find dries out my hair, diluting my sulphate shampoo (to about 40% shampoo 60% water), an ACV rinse after every sulphate wash, using a crapton of dimethicone-heavy conditioner, occasional COwashes with a cone-free conditioner (with cones still in my hair from last wash, I wouldn't do this after clarifying), frequent finger combing, braiding my hair after it dries on wash day to keep it safer on the first day & night since freshly washed hair is relatively the most fragile (and for braid waves!), and last but not least... just accepting that my hair is tangley. All that stuff I do does help reduce tangles but it will always be more tangley than some other people's hair. So yeah I might be "doomed" but it's not the end of the world, plenty of curlies grow their hair long and it's always got knots and tangles hidden throughout it... that's why they only brush/comb when wet and with lots of product in it!!!

That happens to a lot of people when hair gets longer. Dry and protein sensitive hair causes that same problem. I usually have to slather coconut oil on my strands while wet. Once it's air-dried, I use a Tek brush to detangle... then I put my mane in a low braid. My hair can get very knotty (ears on down) and this seems to work beautifully.

It does for me. I used to rinse the ACV out afterward, but I've started leaving it on because it makes my hair less tangly that way. Once it's dry the vinegar smell disappears.
