I've been rubbing in a light oil on my dry hair after washing just before blow drying, and it really helps with shine! So, I think if you do that it will definitely help with shine.
oooh I'll have to try that next time I shower

Here are some resources for product junkies https://forums.longhaircommunity.com...t=7726&page=24 & https://forums.longhaircommunity.com...50735&page=214

To be completely honest, it's been awhile since I have used a mask on towel dried hair. I have just been too lazy. I have used masks weekly but too often just in the shower for 5 minutes max. Today is "proper" deep conditioning day, so towel drying and then applied Garnier Aloe Hair Food mask for 30 minutes.

Checking in with a 1hr rice water rinse treatment. It was a few days old so it was really gluggy but I persevered.

I dont ferment it, I just keep it in the fridge until Im ready to go.

Oh the waves this treatment brings out! Love it. I do wonder if I can over do these treatments but so far so good.

Last night I made a concoction of palmful of conditioner, a tsp of shea butter, and 1/2 tbsp of olive oil. Then I microwaved it for 30 seconds, which was too long. Luckily nothing burned. I mixed it all together before and after my shower (~40 min.) so it was room temp in the end. I applied it and put on a plastic shower cap, then left it in for around 50 minutes. Then I rinsed it out, conditioned one more time to make sure there wasn't any residual oil, and then after t-shirt drying I put it in two braids and went to bed. I haven't take the braids out yet, but my ends are soo soft! I've been struggling with straw-ends lately which may be due to my frequent swimming in the past two weeks (new house with a pool). This mixture was super easy to make and actually works! Might even become my go to DC

I did a hot oil treatment with Castor, jojoba and avocado oil with a few drops of lavender, and again My hair feels too oily I might have to do a light poo to get rid of some more residue
