I love claw clips and you all have so many pretty ones! Unfortunately they don't seem to love me back haha. Mine usually break or I have to use a couple of them or they just flop over. The only ones I have now are these but if I can find more that are as sturdy I'll be buying them. Excuse the hair mess, I threw it up after my shower and it's still too short to get it all up. (can you tell I was creeping this thread when I took the picture haha!)

I have tried many kinds and have found that the Goody Brand ones with 9 teeth are the best ever. I need the clips to look like a "C" when open. No zig zag clips are comfy to me.They are also so light weight and the 9 teeth cover more scalp area which means less pulling. Since the clips come only in 3 colors, I have started hand painting some or adding some little flower decorations to a few. I mainly love the clips for the ease and comfort for everyday.
I can count on them holding all day. I have a few videos using them. I also have a newer Pretzel Bun Tutorial for 2014 using the Goody Clips.Your link shows my original Pretzel Bun with shorter hair (and the clips were not great in the 1st video) There are NO silicone grips or pointy spikes in these. The ears (part you hold with fingers) is also smaller compared to a lot of others I have. I feel silly with the clips sticking out far on some of the fancier ones. I rather use more muted clips and make the focus more on the hair and not the accessory. These clips are my go to accessory and I have several backups in case they discontinue making them. I have used these for about 4 years and only broke 1.In the video I show the clips up close.
Well, I finally tried these Goody claw clips and they are every bit as wonderful as JjLonghair says they are. My hair is now hip length at 32 inches and very thick at 4.5 inch ponytail circumference. Just within the past month, I have been noticing it to be alot heavier, especially when wet after washing it. I like to damp bun it while it dries and have just used either an acrylic stick from Crockett Mountain Woodworks or two small, 1 inch claw clips, one on either side of my lwb. But, recently my damp bun seems to be hanging alot heavier. So, today I finally went to Walgreens and purchased two packages with 3 claw clips on each card for about $9 total with tax. The sale was buy one, get one for 1/2 price. Anyways, these hold and distribute the weight on the back of my scalp hair so evenly on each side of my nautilus bun and lwb and seem to weigh less than a feather. Of course being plastic they are also ideal for damp bunning too! Yes! Thanks JJLonghair (LadyLongLocks) for letting us know from your videos and thread comments just how wonderful these Goody Claw clips are!

I love claw clips and so glad I found this thread. I like my clips to open like a C as well. The hold a twist nicely that way. My Rite Aid has the most beautiful clips. Usually Kmart & Walmart have the best prices. But I've found the more dressy, fancy ones at Rite Aide.

    Everyone has such pretty claws!

I've also got some of the Claire's ones:

The smaller one at the front came in a set, but I've already lost one (had them less than a week) :/ They're plastic, but they look high quality, and they all feel like they'll take a fair amount of stress.

And I'm definitely subscribing to this thread - claws have always been my favourite hair accessory!

I love using small claw clips to hold up buns discretely for professional settings. I also like to use them to hold up high buns for sleeping.

I can't live without my claw clips... It's my most important hair tool since I've reached APL.
