"Some" of your clips? I'm pretty sure you have a clip for every occasion right there.

I don't blame you though. Claw clips are pretty much the only things I can get to keep my hair in place when I put it up. ><

Wow i'm loving everyone's collection. I have a tiny collection of claw clips that I use only for when I want to put my hair under a shower cap. I don't like how claw clips look on me so I wear other types when going out. I don't even remember the brand of these clips, but I remember I had bought this at Walgreens and they were on sale.

I LOVE the claw clips up front, with the circular design--where'd you get those? Claw clips are my favorite reach for item at home. At the barn, not so much

I think this Goody claw-clip is really good because of: 1) big exposed metal spring 2) big long barrel (against the overall size). Many rare and expensive claw clips seem to have huge ornamental sides but actually small barrel and spring, making them less sturdy and easier to break, but this simple Goody one seems pretty sturdy. I should definitely go buy those, since I don't have my old ones anymore.

But I have a question: do you worry about hair getting caught in the spring or in the seams on the plastic mold at all? Is there a way of sanding that plastic down without creating even more snaggy areas?

Also, I thought I'd share these videos about how to select claw-clips: they don't discuss the aesthetics, but the functionality and the size/spring issues.

I check the clips before I buy them. You can use a emery board to sand any spots if needed. Of all the clips I have used the inexpensive goody ones are the best. They are super strong and light. They open like a "C" and have 9 teeth.

In 2005 my hair was getting longer and I was able to make my first bun using claw clips. They were not great ones back then, but I could tell the potential they had. I use lots of clips in my bun tutorials!I have gotten the expensive clips and dont like them.

I think I got those at an outlet store a while back. The silver medallions stick out too much and look funny on me. I always need to wear 2. I dont remember exactly who made them, might have been Vidal Sassoon or Revlon.

My claw has gotten me through the darkest times of growing out a pixie. And it never snags! It is this wooden-style one.

I like how I get the look I'm going for - wooden, rustic accessories - even though it's still too short for sticks.

Ooh I have one of these, I think I bought it from Claire's.. yes here is a link. There is also a flower one with the wood effect. The one I have is very sturdy, it must be about 4 years old by now and still going strong! Edit: even more

This thread has inspired me to buy a few more claws from Ebay. They are my most-used hair toy because I wear them in my sleep bun every night (high on the top of my head). The sleep bun often gets left in all day too so it will be good to have a few more colourful claw clips
