Aithne , those are absolutely beautiful in your pretty dark hair! I love the copper and turquoise against your hair. The three prong fork is a 60th Street dymondwood, though I can't remember the name right now.
Yay! They're here! Thank you, DweamGoiL and all the other LHCers who made it possible for these lovely hair toys to come to me I wore them all in new buns I learned from LHC (thank you for all the new bun knowledge, too!). I think it's so cool that all these hair toys have been passed down to me from more knowledgeable members. It feels like a torched has been passed (maybe the hair force will be with me now and my buns will be stronger and prettier?!)and is a massively lovely way to welcome new members.
And without further ado pictures (Oh My Gooodness, it is so hard to take pictures! Props to all the LHCers who post lots of pictures! I did find it works better if I go in the linen closet and set the camera on the second to the bottom shelf with a timer. So these hair toys taught me how to take a picture of the back of my head better, too! Thank you!)!
Yay! A decent sized picture! Finally! *pure joy* This is a hair fork I received from RAOK in a flipped bun. I really like it because it looks like the hairfork in the flipped bun video by SwordWomanRiona. I think her hair is really pretty and my bun doesn't look like hers yet, but I haven't given up yet. Also, it always seems really loose when I do it, but she says it holds rock hard in her video. I suppose this is user error...but I love the hair fork, thank you! #hairheroes
This one was a surprise I love how it's so clear and twists and the twists bend the light! It's so fascinating and wonderful! It's soo beautiful and fun to fiddle around with. I've worn it three days so far, so I think this is my favorite. Oh, I'm wearing it in a kind of sort of LHC related hairstyle. I was watching an LHC video and this was on the side window... It's a Viking ponytail. Thank you, I love it!
This is the Lilla Rose flexi I picked It was the hardest thing to use. I couldn't figure out how to use it so I went with a Centerheld Braided Bun which seems to work with everything. It kept on coming undone and I had to redo it and scoop up more hair or less hair but I think I scooped enough and not too much on the third or fourth try. I really like the color in my hair. I had no idea copper? and turquoise looked so nice in it. <- Yet another thing I learned on LHC Thank you! It's beautiful, thank you, again!
This may be the first picture of feet on the ROAK thread?! This is the hair stick I picked and it's in a chameleon bun...I think? I know I was thinking of maybe trying a Nessa bun (lately I've been in love with the Nessa bun)...oh dear, I can't remember and I'm not so good that I can tell what it is by looking (gee, this bun makes my bun look huge! My hair is not thick at all. It does have a crazy flyaways, though...guess you all probably noticed that...I did try to photoshop them out in one pic, but it looked weird so I gave up. They seem to be permanent flyaways)...anyhow, the stick matches my socks (so I included the picture of my socks with the stick so you can feel my matchy-matchy joy *blush* It's the small things, it really is)! I think the top of this stick is so interesting, like all the shapes are so different. I think of it as my "pawn" stick because it looks like parts of chess pieces. I think it's cool how it has a slip stop? at the bottom, too. I think my buns are too loose for the slip stop to work, though. The wood also looks like a charcoal sumi-e painting, with the black and yellow swirls I think that's so neat. Who knew wood could grow that way?! It's really cool, thank you
And the last item from my uber long post (I think this is my longest post here ever!) is another surprise one! This fork looks like tiger stripes (I like tigers) and is a many tined fork (like the kind experienced LHCers wear!). It has three tines! I think this bun was the Nessa bun?? Now I'm really confused, but it's a bun I learned here. The fork is really smooth and slides in nicely and I didn't even drop any of its "loops" *proud* This fork is also neat because it's "chatoyant" ...the wood shimmers when the light moves over it (I learned that word for wood here, too. I thought it was only for tiger eye gemstones before.). I think it's amazing how the wood does that! Isn't wood amazing? It's not just sticks and splinters! I love this one, too, thank you!
I really love all the hair toys. I couldn't keep my hands off them last week when they came (or this week, either). It's been very distracting during work...but they are so much fun to look at as well as use...and imagine who had them before and what hairstyles they liked to use them with... Thank you so much, LHC!

So pretty, Aithne! That fork in particular is gorgeous. I hope you continue to enjoy your finds : )
Amazing! I love how the shades of brown look with your hair
.
Thank you Was the three prong fork yours before? Double-thank you then I love it and its tiger stripes!
Thank you! I'm so happy I finally figured out how to make them normal sized, like everyone else's. Thank you again for making it possible for me to play with all the hair toys I really love them
Thank you! I am still enjoying them (it's the Baggy of Happiness) I think hair toys are really fun. I didn't know about all the LHC kind before I started reading these forums. I only need about Goody, Scuncii, Kristen Ess? (U pins I found from Target, they slip like crazy but are pretty), Mary Craft (and I found out the hard way that if their black horn stuff touches water, black stuff leaks out, but they were the smoothest nicest hair toys I'd found to that point), etc. before LHC.
Thank you Wood *is* really cool, isn't it? I had no idea before LHC (wow, I sound like a convert, but I am)

I am not totally positive, but I do believe it was, yes (there was so many it's hard to remember!). But don't thank me! I shipped DweamGoil two large boxes full or uncategorized or labelled hair toys, and she researched them all, posted them, arranged this whole thread, and eventually shipped them out! She did all of the hard work! I take my hat off to her and her incredible generosity with her time to do all of this for everyone here!

Thank you both again
…do you remember what bun you liked to wear it with? So far forks are harder to use than sticks for me and it’d be cool to wear it how it was “supposed” to be XD …The colors of the Tiger Fork looks like the kitty in your…avatar? Profile? Picture I think calico cats are so cool.

I realize that I made it sound like DweamGoil organized this thread after I donated, and that's not so. For quite some time, SHE was the one donating, organizing, doing everything! Sorry, just needed to clear that up.
Thank you about the avatar pic! I love calicos too! I had one that looked almost exactly like this picture I found on the internet (faces identical, long hair, everything), and so she's been my avatar ever since I've had one.
There are many ways to wear hair forks, and mine might not work for you as I have baby fine, quite thin hair. With your length and thickness, I'd say try it in a center held bun, like a nautilus or lazy wrap. It's a bit short for you (again, fine thin hair here!), and this will also help with that.
Your hair is just so lovely, it will look gorgeous however you wear it!

Thank you for your reply and advice Whenever I look at the Tiger Fork, I think of the calico cat and nice people I'm used to wearing shorter forks because that's all they have on Amazon I will try it with a nautilus or lazy wrap Thank you again! It's really neat to get to talk to the person who donated Tiger Fork It really makes me feel part of LHC Everyone I've "spoken" to here has been so nice and helpful
