I've actually never dyed my hair! I've contemplated it many times, but was always swayed out of doing it for one reason or another. I've still got a full box of henna sitting in my bathroom cabinet that I never used.

Cheese because there's not enough options!
I've used henna, indigo, permanent dye, and temporary dye. I've had fun with them all, but I'm not interested in using them any more. My hair is too dark for most colors to show up without lightening first, and that's damage and commitment I don't need. I'm learning to appreciate my natural deep dark brown

My first experience with hair dye was bleaching it with Sun-in in high school, then dyeing it dark brown with box dye when the color kept lightening/becoming more orange. In college, I started using a plum-colored box dye. Then, in my early 20's I started dyeing it black or dark brown. Through my 20's to mid-30's I went through spans of time either dyeing it darker or keeping the natural color, with a couple of attempts to lighten it: an all-over strawberry-blonde dye at the salon, which didn't work and had to be corrected, and caramel highlights, which looked good. I used henna from my mid- to late-30's but went back to getting it dyed at the salon in my late-30's. I decided to go back to henna (and now indigo) in 2020, and my hair's looking much healthier. I noticed in recent years it doesn't look healthy after a chemical dye like it used to in my 20's.
I haven't dyed my hair for a long time so I'm growing out my natural hair.
I’ve only ever used semi-permanents, and then ones close to my natural colour, mostly to add a bit more red to my brown and add a whole heap more shine. Some years ago I decided it really wasn’t worth the mess (and with greys coming in it’s not worth the touch ups), so I’ve been natural for a while now.
Letting my hair do whatever it wants to do!
I've been dyeing my hair for the last 30 years, and I love the color the hair dyes gives! And, I'm going to continue to use hair dye until I'm ready to show all of my gray hairs, and I'm not ready for that yet at my age.
Last time I dyed my hair was in the early 2017. I don't miss it at all. Never enjoyed the "smell" of the dye, and I don't think it did my hair any favors either.
I'm much happier with my natural look.
I'm growing my natural hair color but I experimented the dyed hair before, it is so long and very ugly for me to have my two colors during a long time so I'm not planning to do it again for the moment even with henna or natural hair powder
I bleached my hair for 20+ years and one day I've decided to stop destroying my hair and I put henna all over it. I then considered going back to my natural colour (medium brown), but after a couple of months I've noticed I had grey hairs so I'm back on henna with a view of keep using it forever and grow long, strong healthy hennaed hair.
