I know I saw this years ago but I can't remember what it's called and Google is not helping! What is this accessory that Hypn0tica is wearing? https://www.flickr.com/photos/crafty...n/49653677221/

I believe it's typically called a Chinese bun holder, I don't know the proper name. It's named for the kind of bun it holds, basically, a chinese bun, which is either a ponytail split and wrapped or two braids split and wrapped. I have two, one that looks like that and one that is flat. As far as I know they're not made anymore.

This is what it looks like not-in-hair:

This is what the flat one looks like:

Wow, I haven't seen these before, do you just slide them through the bun to hold it? They are so elegant.

Is there a tutorial for these? Akura do you wear them? Maybe you could show us.

There's a tutorial somewhere I'm sure. If I have time I might make a video. For the unbraided bun you make a ponytail and slide it into the hair above the ponytail (against your scalp) with the curve facing out, you wrap the ponytail around the space between the curve and your scalp, then you rotate it so that the curve is pointing towards your scalp. If I'm doing the braided version I skip the ponytail but make two braids with the bases side-by side, then you slide it in above your braids backwards, then you repeat the same process as if it's ponytail

Putting it in my signature because I have to say it so often:
Do what works for your hair, not what other people say is "right" or "wrong." If it works for you, it's not wrong. If it doesn't work for you, it's not right.
