How to upload photos? I am really confused?

I don't understand why it is asking me for a web address. I usually get them off of the computer itself. I tried to put in the URL to the picture on photobucket, but that did not work..

Hey Leslieslsa! Posting photos on the forum can only come from two places: A forum-based album or an image hosting service (Flickr, Photobucket, Imgur, ImageShack, etc.). The forum won't allow you to post an image to a thread straight from your computer.

You aren't able to have a forum album quite yet (see this thread to explain some commonly asked questions), so you will have to use an image hosting service. Once you have a photo uploaded there, here is a great thread talking about how to put photos in posts:

That thread is on the Test Board, so you are more than welcome to test posting there to get the hang of it before going to the thread you want to post in.

If you still find yourself having trouble, please let us know. I and other members who frequent Site Support are happy to help you understand the process. Just send a link to the Test Board thread you were testing on and we can go from there.

I see you've found the button that asks for the URL, so all you would have to do is put the URL of the image into it, then post.

For example, my sigpic's URL is:

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/...ine=1373577124

So to post it, I would have to put it in a post like this:

[IMG]http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/image.php?u=12653&type=sigpic&dateline=1373577124[/IMG]

That gets you this:



It's just the URL in between those tags.



If you have trouble with the Photobucket image, let us know the URL you're using. Sometimes users try using the URL of the page the photo is on, but not the URL of the photo itself.

Imgr is the only one that works for me, you can edit the sizes too. you have to copy the BB code link to post and you can only do it on a computer not a cell. Hope it helps, this took me literally all weekend lol
