Default Aloe Vera powder in a henna mix?

My previously damaged hair can use all the moisture it can get and I found aloe Vera powder on hennasooq's site. I am thinking of adding it to my next henna!

Has anyone tried this? If so, was there an effect on dye uptake? Do you mix the powders together or add the aloe powder after your paste is ready? Does it affect texture or rinseabilty? And most important, can you tell a difference haha! Or any other tidbits

FYI: I use only warm water in my mix now and get phenomenal stain and hair's condition has improved tenfold with very quick dye release.

Lots of folks add oil to their henna mix, I can't see how it would hurt. I personally henna over well-oiled hair. Try it! Since it's a powder you might mix it in with the henna so you get the right consistency - many people add oils after dye release, though.

To your other question, personally I'd start with a TBS and see how it goes..

I'm sure it will be fine. People add all kinds of stuff to their henna. I have never heard anything about aloe helping the dye take better though. If your worried you can always do a strand test (:

I've seen aloe powder in henna recipes on Henna Sooq so I have to assume it's okay. It's on my list to try. If you're unsure you could first make a paste with the aloe powder, test it out on your hair by itself and then try mixing it in the henna.

Any new insights on aloe powder in 2019? I'm curious if it actually helps to prevent dryness from using mud treatments like henna, cassia, etc.
