I just recently discovered that not all salons are friendly towards us. I mean seriously, I had to leave my favorite stylist because she kept asking "damn when are you gonna cut this hair?"
grrrr
anyway, anyone know of any in the New Orleans area?

I had no idea there was a long hair salon in my town! Neato!
Wouldn't know what to do if I went, but I'll make note to maybe visit it some day.

I see Tina normally but when she was busy I saw JoeAnne - and Tina came over and explained to her my 'thing' about my hair, and JoeAnne was fine. I trust them both.

Seriously, Dallas is a genius. BOOK HIM. It's a small salon in the charming warehouse district of New Orleans and the best thing about Dallas is that for a good 40 + years of his life, he had very long hair. So, he is partial to long hair. He cut it off when he turned 50 but the point is he knows how to handle a head of long hair. He knows what the word "dusting" means, only uses boar bristles and if you choose to have it styled, the flat iron doesn't come near you. He will use a blow dryer, but on its warm setting immediately followed by a cold shot. No products but shampoo and conditioner (they all do this) and if you want a stylish hair cut, he will leave length and shape your hair perfectly. I have never ever ever seen someone as talented as this man and I have been to ALOT of places from New York City to Toronto to Super Cuts in podunkville.
The only con is, be prepared to pay for it. With the cut, style and tip I paid around $120. Thing is, this is something you would actually want to save up for. I have never felt this good about my hair. What's better, is that if you're like me and could not style your hair because of its weight...he can take care of that with a simple layering of your hair that blends and looks incredibly sexy and HOLDS STYLE.
anyway I can show you a picture, but it's kinda weird because it has my youngest baby in it LOL.
try to pay attention to the hair, this is not its complete length, it is well down the mid back. I just wanted to show the shape of it.

I have found Robbie to be the best stylist there. He does not argue or try to persuade you into anything against your wishes, understands when you want a tiny tiny trim and he allows you to go home without a blowdry if you wish. He will blowdry on cold shot at your request. Also he does not use flat irons or products when you don't want them. I can't praise this guy enough, he did great things for my hair when I was living in Lancaster.
