Took a few minutes and made myself look pretty today.

Weird angle but it was the best I could do! I'm growing out my hair natural after lightening it several years ago. From about the shoulders up it's all natural now, and it definitely looks healthier than the old stuff!

Improving on doing double French plaits. It’s about the 3rd/4th attempt over a week or so. Just need to master the Dutch braids next!

For me braiding Dutch is a lot easier than French somehow

Today i'm wearing a fluffy chinese bun.

I've noticed this very cool affresco in my local duomo. The picture kinda sucks, but I had to zoom in as the part was enclosed (to protect the old paintings, I guess)

Looks like a rope braid crown to me, with a smaller accent braid.

What a great find! :) It made me think of braids with ribbons or even just wrapped strands, but I can't quite tell whether they were going for deep braid creases or the additional ribbon. I was thinking like here, except it's much thinner. When looking it up, I even came across this person that recreates stuff who also compiled many references of hair crowns, if that's interesting to you & if you haven't seen it before! :) I don't know if it's from the right time period, though.

I was also unable to determine if the swirls are ribbons or just a way to emphasize the rope braid pattern... But I was leaning towards the second.
