Teach him to do it! It's actually a great length now for scalp braiding, long enough to grab a hold of short enough for it not to grab itself. I;d like to go back to there and one day I will but I've got a visit with knee planned first

Haha I'll try and teach him, but I suspect scalp braiding will be a steep learning curve for him. So far, he's only ever done a traditional English braid, and only on other people's hair. But you're right, this is the perfect length. How far are you from knee at the moment?

The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Along the way, I remember how braiding over the shoulder was a major milestone. And I still use a mirror. And practice on manikins since my own hair is freaking too long.

It's about 3" from the top of my kneecap to 4" from knee-proper (center of the bend at the back of the leg) so by one year here there's a good chance of at least a few hairs reaching my knee lol but hey all it takes is one

I'll definitely encourage him If he doesn't cut it, it should be around shoulder length for our wedding, which gives him a lot of cool styling options! And he's always wanted to grow his hair long, but other people's comments/discouragement have kept him cutting it back for many years.

That's so exciting! You're super close! Are you going to try for terminal, or stopping before that?

    Omelette, your hair!
And excellent cornrows for your partner; I wish mine would let me braid his hair!

First time posting a photo here!

Here is a collage of my hair in different conditions. I recently discovered the Curly Girl Method and actually I really like it, I think I'm seriously gonna stick to it! So, the first two photos (above) is my hair today with CGM (3rd attempt), thats the 2nd day after washing/styling without refresh. Third photo (below) is my hair just washed, without any styling applied. Photo n4 - straightened with a flat iron.
Wow, what a transformation from CG! I love your curls!

My ends still have a heavy taper on them but I'm pretty happy with my overall progress and hair health now
Hi Nox! It’s so nice to see your hair - it’s looking great since your cut! Your color is really lovely and rich.

Thank you, baanoo Haha maybe start some subliminal messaging (e.g. sending pics of cool braided styles at the same length as their hair)

With your encouragement, that's all he needs.

Knee in only one year at LHC lol! I've been trying to figure out where I am between simultaneous new growth and daily loss for a while. Medical issues aside, I know that they will balance when I'm at terminal. Guess I'll know when I get there. Cheers!

So I tried to tone away some green tinge in my ends with a pink dye, resulting in... pink hair. I'm not mad, as long as it's temporary, lol. Also I think this might be hip?
