I think I cant wear braids during the day. I fidget with the braid shred which is worse than any mechanical damage I’d get wearing my hair loose. I think that buns and crown braids are the best option for me

It's supposed to be close to 0° F next week. I'm kinda tired of airdrying my hair 99% of the time, especially in this weather. I might start blowdrying it more if this cold keeps up.

My wash days are so tiresome these days that I have started to feel like just chopping off my hair into a long bob. Doesn’t help that I’m rewatching Grey’s Anatomy and I’m at that season where everyone has a cute bob, lol. Not going to do it though, I would never style it, and slightly less hassle on wash days just aren’t worth the inevitable regret and grow out time.

The Gilmore Girls used to do that to me, when Rory had her hair cut short it always made me want to get a bob.

I’m sure bobs are easier for some people, but they’re an absolute pain for me and give me the worst hair days.

Right, one of the reasons I decided to grow out in the first place was because my hair doesn’t lie nicely at shorter lengths! It needs to be styled, and I can’t even be bothered to style my face framing pieces.

Same here. It was the reason for growing my hair. I’d had a pixie cut for a few years and grew that out to a bob, but had one particularly awful bad hair day that nothing seemed to fix and decided to grow.

Other than I'd always wanted Really Long Hair, one of my main reasons for growing out hair is that I need so many trims when my hair is short - it's a salon visit every few weeks. Say Big $$, arrrgh. When hair is perfectly straight, uneven ends really can look unkempt. Also, I needed to wash every frickin' day or it was just greasy strings. Ugh.

Along a similar vein, I've heard people say it's more expensive to maintain shorter hair than it is to grow it out, what with all the frequent trims and styling.
Wishing you all love, joy, and peace!

Every time I chop mine off to shoulder length, I end up regretting it in a day or so since I can't style it the way I usually do. Even a low ponytail doesn't stay in as well as it does when it's at least arm pit length. I also don't like my hair on my neck, so I always want to put it back. Even though my Mom says: "it's easier", it's the opposite for me, since I find longer hair easier. When I was growing it back from losing it to chemo, I had to use a ton of mousse to get to look half decent. I was relieved when it finally reached shoulder length and I could leave it alone. Natural curl seems to stick out more the shorter it is, so it tends to look better the longer it gets. I gave the unused mousse to my Mom to use up. My Mom has short hair that sticks up after she gets up from laying down. With longer hair, I don't have that problem. Sure, it's a little messy, but it hardly "sticks" up like Mom's does.
