Y'all ever thought about how strong our neck muscles are?

Dry hair might not weigh all that much, but when it's soaking wet and your head is tilted slightly back in the shower...those muscles are WORKING.
Wishing you all love, joy, and peace!

Your hair is way longer than most of ours, LongHairFaerie, you need a muscular neck!!

My random thought is that I didn't realize how fast hair actually grows until I dyed it. I was always watching the other end of it wondering why it grew so slowly. With a clear demarcation line at the roots you can just about see it grow day by day.
This L'Oreal Casting Gloss thing is going to get expensive, isn't it?

Every time I mention that my neck strain might be caused by the weight of my hair, Mom suggests I cut it off to shoulder length! Uh no, that's not happening, since I hate shoulder length hair! I don't keep my hair ties that tight and there might be other causes (reaching into the cupboards without using a stool, my laptop being too low, etc.), so why would I cut it off to a length I hate and have to grow it all out again? Losing it to chemo was bad enough, so why would I want to go through that again (though I wouldn't be growing it out from bald, but that's besides the point)? Just because Mom prefers it shorter doesn't mean I do! You can always do neck exercises to strengthen them more, so it doesn't get as strained (though I should probably look for a riser for my laptop and see if that helps my "tech neck" as well, since I only have it on an overturned tray that you use to take food into another room, but it's still too low, though I tend to procrastinate too much).

For the last couple days, I have been getting an error saying the site isn't supported or safe. Is anyone else getting the same error?

Yes, it happens every year - there’s a security certificate that needs to be renewed and it hasn’t been yet.

I feel you! I've been on the computer a lot for the past ten years: first with online school and now with remote work.

During online school, I put my MacBook Air on a couple of big binders on my desk, which worked to get it up, but then my arms were also up and the edge of the computer dug into my wrists. I knitted little wrist wraps to prevent that, which I sometimes remembered to wear.

Pretty much the same deal with work, at least at first. In preparation for building a gaming PC, I recently purchased a monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse...

...AND I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS WAY SOONER!

I plugged the above accessories into my work laptop. My monitor is at eye level on the upper section of my desk, my laptop (the brain) sits on the main section, and my keyboard and mouse are on the pull-out drawer, just above my lap. It's so much more comfortable on my eyes, my arms, my neck, and my back.

I definitely recommend doing this if you are frequently on your laptop for extended periods of time.

    -Sincerely, a fellow procrastinator
Wishing you all love, joy, and peace!

I have a crooked spine and tech neck so it's irritating when people blame my hair. It is heavy but still.. I just got off my neck traction unit before I read this. I mean right before. It helps. It puts the bend back in the way it should be by forcing the muscles to be in the positions they should. They don't like it at first haha. But they relax and move.

I made a standing desk and that helped a lot. I used things I had around the house, an old computer case on its side to sit the monitor & keyboard on, etc. Made a TREMENDOUS difference. Also got some padding to put on the floor so I can stand there without foot issues. It's also nice to have a block of wood or big book, something there next to the padding, that I can rest one foot on, thus shifting weight from one side to the other. Tech-neck is a real thing and it can be very painful if ignored.
