Oh, it came out just fine. There's an obvious demarcation line from the new henna to the older, more-faded stuff (or there was the other day when it looked extra-vibrant cause it was new) but that's not going to be obvious with my hair back. It's oxidized a bit now and not quite so bright.

I was told the other day that it looks natural... not sure about that as I still feel newly-bright henna is too flashy for my features. But I do have warm "coloring" so it's possible henna looks more natural on me than my ashy actual color... At any rate, that's nice to hear. I feel like henna is more likely to look natural on people since it sort of "works with" the natural/original color rather than covering it up or bleaching it away.

I think I've had pictures in my album before... just not sure I have any in there now.

A few days ago after my shampoo (last one was six weeks ago) I found a few split ends while it was getting air dried.
Not exactly a surprise when my hair is over 1 meter long, I haven't done any S&D since last September when I went fingercombing only and daily oiling. I guess my lemon juice experiment back in last March finally caught up and bit me in the ass despite the oiling and bunning. Damage is damage and it is irreversible as hair is just dead keratin.
I snipped them off without hesitation and checked but couldn't find more.
Maybe I should start doing S&D every few weeks.
On the side note, as I collect my daily shed, I do notice the new growth/root part of my hair is much smoother and thicker than the bottom part (thin and stretchy), so the less friction/manipulation the better for hair.

Meanwhile, last night I wanted to do a deep conditioning, so I splashed my usual glycerin and aloe Vera on my ends, before wash day. But something seemed off.. I had used my aloe vera face wash. I chucked it away immediately (I never used it anyway, it was no good) and washed my ends out, and my ends are pretty happy? I think the moisture was better penetrated in the hairshafts because of the wetness of my hair. Happy little accident.

I've actually been tempted lately to do a bigger cut at some point, either a long bob or fully short (although I seriously doubt if I'm brave enough for the latter). I probably won't do it at all, and if I am to seriously consider it, I want to wait until the chop would leave me with all virgin hair. But it's a bit funny to me, I've been all about long hair for the past few years, and at most I've been tempted to cut to BSL to make the length more manageable.

Probably not going to do it though. I don't have the face for short hair. And I love how it looks and feels long.

Totally relatable, Aerya. I like '20s-'30s fashion/style so a bob of any kind would be ideal but like long hair. fortunately there are low buns that can be done.

Yea, I like short hair and long hair but the in between lengths feel pretty meh to me… Unfortunately if I cut, it will be several years of in between before it’s long again. Ugh. Low buns are great though!

Forgot that the joys of long hair include pulling my own strands of hair out of food... Lovely. (said with heavy sarcasm LOL)

I'm only mildly disgusted when I find it in my own food/mouth, but omg I will never forgive myself if I make something for my family/friends/partner/etc. and hair somehow gets into it. YUCK!!
