My random hair thought: when I had a very short pixie it seemed to grow like a weed. One reason I started growing it out was because I was tired of $60 haircuts every 4 weeks. Now that I am growing it long why does it grow in slow motion!?

Because when your hair is short, 2 cm of growth makes a big difference, whereas when your hair is long the same amount just disappears with the rest of the hair. You could measure it if you want to make sure it's actually growing. And of course, when you actually want longer hair, it seems to take forever. Then one day you wake up and suddenly your hair feels so much longer.

My random hair thought:
I keep getting these ads for hair products to "promote faster growth" and one of them had a before-and-after picture where the hair grew like... 5 cm in 5 months. And people were praising it in the comments. I was so tempted to hop in the comments section and point out that most people get that amount (or more!) without any special products. Maybe recommend some cheese instead. It's cheaper for sure.

I’m sorry to hear about the shedding. I’ve been through (still going through) something similar and it’s no fun. I’m trying to appreciate what I have and hope that some thickness will recover.

I have an idea of what is causing it, but I don't have much power over it at the moment.
My ponytail now is less than 6.5 cm and there is an area where I've always had a lower density compared to the rest of my scalp. Now I cant wear my hair in many updoes outside now, because it looks like I don't have hair there.

You can see it in your updos? How do you know it looks like that? Maybe you can wear parandas or play with silk fabrics to cover things up and make it thicker?

My random hairthought: I have a headache somehow from bunning. Maybe its because I braided the front. Can't wear my hair in a bun the rest of the day if that happens, scalp is now very sensitive.

I’m going back to using combs to detangle and my BBB for smoothing afterward. I haven’t used either in a few years.

I bought three different wide-tooth combs to try out. They should be arriving today

I went ahead and put away my other brushes (wet brush and TT).

I was looking at pictures from this time last year, and I’ve had zero net growth.
My hair length at the end of 2022 was exactly the same as the end of 2021.
I felt like my hair grew really fast this past year, but I had to get a lot of it trimmed off.
Feeling seriously thankful for LHC today and hoping some of my newer healthy habits will let me get a bit of growth this year.

i bought that 5ml tester once to try too! didn't see a huge difference in myself, it was nice though. my hair was in good condition already mind you, i imagine it could have a dramatic effect on someone that actually has damaged hair.

i just bought a denman gentle detangling brush specifically for fine hair with really small and flexy bristles. really looking forward to trying it ;D
