Speaking for blowdryers, I've actually bought a new one like a month and half ago. I don't know why it happens, but it dries my hair faster than the other one, even a low spead and medium heat (my usual settings). And it's a cheap blow dryer.

In the past I had this problem that my hair got comparatively tangled from scalp to ears, so I've started washing with a silicone shampoo a couple of weeks ago (after years of only using cone free shampoos) and have noticed for the last two washes that I have zero tangles on the top of my head. I can brush from top to bottom without encountering a single knot.
After using the new shampoo for the first time the tangling was already improved, but it still took some time to unravel everything. But just now it's like magic. Is this some build up that needs to happen? The hair feels clean and not weighed down at all, but I haven't changed anything else in my routine.

Mine usually within a couple hours... the drying goes much faster once it has dried enough for me to be able to finger-comb the tangles out (because the strands get separated and exposed to air). I suspect that if I could break up wet "clumps" then the blow-drying would be faster-- that was probably my problem before-- but at that point I might as well just let it finish air-drying!
Putting it in my signature because I have to say it so often:
Do what works for your hair, not what other people say is "right" or "wrong." If it works for you, it's not wrong. If it doesn't work for you, it's not right.

Mini braids are fun but it makes SMP a challenge.

In the last couple weeks I've noticed a massive amount of breakage. Like, hair snapping in half if I look at it too hard. It's horrifying. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. It's so distressing that I'm making an appointment with my doctor and then a dermatologist to make sure it's nothing serious. I am so at my wits end with this hair that seems only to get shorter and stringier and thinner despite truly babying it.

I love running my fingers down mini braids. The feeling is so oddly satisfying

Mine is about the same. I'm wondering if one of those ionic dryers will take care of it quicker.

My hair takes a full day to dry. I'd have to use the dryer for over an hour to speed that up, with heat, which is why at this point I don't even bother.

I think I'm going through a skin change. My scalp and face keep getting oily when they've always been dry. Wonder what's going on there. I washed Monday and my scalp is already pretty oily. My hair needs the oil but my scalp feels awful and my face will blemish. I hope this is temporary...
