Yeah I wonder why this happens too... I thought it was because my hair is naturally straight but I guess that has nothing to do with it

Yes, finally! I'm so glad I once cut very damaged, about bsl length hair back to chin and back then I also had this effect that awful matting turned to no tangles at all during a wash CWCC is my normal routine, but yesterday, I could actually leave the last C out.
I'm happy for you that your wash worked out! Bathroom troubles can be so so annoying

I bought a bleach blonde box dye today, but I changed my mind. I'll leave it to the professionals, going to return it tomorrow, progress!
I braided my hair upside down for bed the other night and did a French braid from the nape of my neck, travelling upwards. (Not something I usually do I was just curious, lol) When I woke up I had some lovely braid waves and some parts that had stayed completely straight, it was so bizarre. I quite liked the look though. I tried again and today it just went frizzy.

I’ve been having some scalp pain right on the very top of my head, in the “stand up underneath something unexpectedly low” location, and I haven’t been able to figure it out. I’ve tried washing my hair inverted, clarifying, diffusing my roots, moving my part (“part” ) multiple times during drying, not keeping it up in a tshirt for longer than the amount of time it takes to stop dripping, scalp massages. I don’t wear my buns in that spot very often, and when I braid my hair I start the French/Dutch braid lower so there’s no tension there. It’s a mystery!
New growth is so thick that I should big chop. Not sure I want to lose 5 inches although it's pitifully thin.
Could the bun be pulling the hair in that spot. I have had that happen a few even when my bun was very low, for some reason the weight of the hair was on a section on the top. Maybe try wearing a braid for a few days, or a bun in a totally different area than you normally do. Just a guess. I hope you figure it out soon, pain on the scalp is no fun.
