I can’t work out whether the flyaways all down the length of my hair are due to new growth or breakage. The last time my hair was this long (hip) was 20 years ago and it didn’t look like this then… but then, I was 20 years younger, and it was all virgin. (Sigh.)
They start about where I bun my hair, but I’m super careful with hairpins and claw clips so it shouldn’t be bun breakage? Wondering whether it might be the BBB+nylon brush I used up until a few months ago, since I just detangled with that instead of a comb (bows head in shame). Or maybe the new Kent BBB is still too harsh on my hair. Or maybe it’s the tangle teaser. I’m wishing I’d known about/invested in a Tek wood bristle brush before I moved from Italy to the UK last year.
OMG. I can see the photos. I CAN SEE THE PHOTOS!!!!!![]()
One thing it means is you're not 1b/1c![]()
But have fun finding out what else it means!
Ugh, I am used to split ends, but I found an upside-down midshaft split - what the hell?! I mean, I'm almost impressed, but ... *sigh*
Also my ends are slightly crunchy, which means I have to open another conditioner before I've even used half of this conditioner mix containing protein. Oh wellI suppose at least it means I get to try a new one a few months early? Hopefully I'll be able to alternate though because I don't want this mix sitting around for too long in case it does start to go off.

Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...
Picky scalp but easygoing hair, thank goodness
I am still experimenting with sleep styles. For some reason if I put my hair into my bonnet loose it feels rough and unhappy in the morning, which never used to happen. Last night and the night before I braided before putting the bonnet on and it feels much nicer when I take the braids out in the morning. Loose braids for sleep are a disaster for me but maybe this will work? I didn't get nape tangles or anything, which kind of surprised me.
Caution: LHC-itis may become terminal.

I knew this day would come soon enough, but it's still sad: I have outgrown my favorite clippy. It was just a cheap dollar store claw clip that I purchased thinking it was cute but wouldn't work - and wouldn't you know it, it held a pseudo-French twist so nicely. I noticed last week that the twist would start to unravel if I had my clip in a certain spot, and decided to purchase a new clip at the store, just in case. I just wore my old clip outside for a quick jog down to get the mail, and for the first time ever, my hair fell out. Time to retire it, I suppose. I'm now officially into the "thick hair" claw clip, but that really means my hair is finally long enough to fake some semblance of thickness in certain situations. First world i problems, I suppose.![]()
I guess I'm done wearing my hair loose to bed. Despite my satin sheets and pillow, my fiance spent a half hour last night gingerly coating a huge tangle in coconut oil and brushing it out with a bbb. I checked the brush before and after and was happy to see that he managed to fix the tangle without removing hair...but the whole thing made me very anxious. I guess I'll be wearing braids to be from now on.

I gave DBF a haircut today and it didn't even turn out super terrible. The front needs some work later, but for now, it'll do.

I’m much happier with my hair again since I got my bangs back and bought a straightener! My hair quality has been good but I wonder if I should step up with salon products - or is it just curiosity? Oh well.
