Depends on the bun and the hair. Sometimes the hair is just Nope!

Got any advice on what buns might work? I'm thinking a Celtic knot or cinnamon bun might work.

Totally was a hair fork, and from what I can see, a fairly nice one.

GrowlingCupcake Cinnamon buns gave me nice waves all the years I lived in them pre-LHC

I also do a sort of vertical LWB, but I hold my hand under the ponytail (quite high up) and do the wrap down over my hand, then wrap the tail around the base. At this point it's like an upside-down LWB, but I rotate it 90 to put the fork in. It actually holds despite being a single-wrap bun (not sure why ) but I noticed it gave me nice waves - I'll have to come back and post a pic.

Edit: Here are the bunwaves, combed out:
    Bunwaves
(I had to crop out the top because my mirror is horrifically dirty but the waves started around neck/shoulder length)

Since I've been using lighter/less products my scalp has been so much better. I am really surprised!

Your hair is different than mine, but I get nice waves from double cinnamon buns or from disk bun. I guess it's the sectioning.

I'll have to try that but LWBs usually give me the weird end curls since they have to wrap around so much; I'm not long enough for double wrapped, but I'm too long for single to give me nice waves D:

I think I'll go for a cinnamon bun today, and see how the waves look.

I do find twin buns give me nicer waves; I'm guessing the disc bun would work similarly? I guess I know what I'm wearing tomorrow!
