I've recently started doing an english braid secured by a satin scrunchie. I get breakage if I wear it in a bun because I toss and turn a lot. I bought a silk sleep cap and hope to be able to keep in on when it gets cooler. I either wake up hot and sweaty or I pull it off in my sleep. I've only been braiding for a couple of weeks, before that I slept with it loose.

Usually I sleep with bun and silk cap... also I have silk pillow (but it for my face ).
A low braid is the only hairstyle that is comfortable for me while sleeping. I wake up looking like I've been in a war. I need to purchase a silk pillowcase for that very reason. I quit using my satin bonnet because the elastic is very uncomfortable.

After my surgery, I've had to stack some pillows under my head and back, so I haven't been able to keep my hair in its usual position over the pillow. Thus, I've been wearing side braids (2) to bed now. I find that it has really helped prevent tangling as well as all kinds of snagging and unnecessary rubbing and such that would've otherwise taken place with this arrangement.

Has to be tightly bunned...I move way too much in my sleep for anything else to be feasible.

Lately it’s been in a high pony tail (satin scrunchie) braided into a bun on top of my head. If I leave it loose in the plait it’s shredded by the morning.. goodness knows what I do in my sleep. In the morning I unravel the bun and leave the plait loose for the dog walk, or stuff it into a beanie if it’s cold / raining.
I keep it in a ponytail and I sleep on a silk pillowcase
Usually down. Sometimes in a loose bun, mostly in the summer if it's too hot to sleep with my hair down, or sometimes if I go to bed super tired and just forget to take my bun down. I need my sleeping styles to be very loose though, otherwise I feel like it's pulling at my scalp and like I'm gonna get a headache (or cause further damage to my sad hairline). And I'd rather not sleep in braids unless I'm specifically trying to get curls for the next day, cause I usually prefer my hair staight.
I'm interested in getting a sleeping cap though, especially as my hair starts getting longer.
Silk sleep cap I have recently wanted a new one but the company that made them, silkycoccoon on etsy, doesn't seem to make them anymore. Now I am looking for a new company that makes silk ones for long hair with the big pouch. I like to put the pouch over my shoulder so it doesn't hurt my neck (the ball of hair.)
