99% of the time the answer is no. The only time I see them is if someone says "look I have a split! *shoves in face*"
I don't look for them, but if someone is in front of me and I happen to be looking at the back of their head I will notice if they have major splitage.

Ha! I am so ignorant of my own splits that a split end on a strangers head would probably have to jump out of it's follicle and poke me in the eye before I'd notice.
back when i was in college i would get incredibly distracted if the person in front of my had split ends. just itching to do a little s&d. lol

I'm generally not the one to notice other people (what? there are other people in the world???) but I do remember one occasion years ago when I was in university - there was this girl sitting in front of me in class and she had long, darkish hair, and MASSIVE splits. her hair was literally white and broken two inches in the ends. it was so awful. I wanted to grab scissors and chop the end of her ponytail off, would have done her a favour...
Well, yes, I do. Espicially on other longhairs.
Only if they are so numerous that they have an effect on the overall appearance of the hair.
I notice it more on people who have straightened their hair. But I always pick out who has blow dried their hair or chemical dyed their hair. I always want to grab them and point them in this direction, but they would most likely look at me wierd
Split ends are tiny and I don't have the best eyesight...
