I showed a family member my hair the other day, all loose and brushed out. They know I'm growing it but they mostly just see it bunned because they help me with bun pictures. Their reaction:

Did you KNOW it was that long??

I wore my hair down to the first evening of a weekend-long family gathering and it was also the topic of discussion.

Gruff cowboy cousin: “I think this reeeeeal long hair suits you, lil missy. You look like you’re ever-bit as wild as you really are.”

I seem to have found the only other redheaded woman on campus. I just started college this is my first semester (woohoo!). It's insane that I've been on the LHC since like... freshman year of high school? And here I am with the hair I wanted and thought I would never have and at college where I knew I had to go but I mean it certainly didn't seem real. She is in my English class and we discussed an interaction she had on campus. She said she had been walking with AirPods in but no music and she heard someone behind her who thought she couldn't hear them say "ooh! Look at the ginger!" Of course I think that's hilarious but I'm sure the individuals were highly embarrassed when she turned around.

That is so funny.

Last week I washed my hair and left it down for part of the day, which I very rarely do. DH saw it and said "Wow, your hair is getting really, really long!!!"

Here is the funny part. Since I have been at terminal for a few years, now, the length has not changed at all. Have to give him credit for noticing, tho. He rarely notices anything, and I really do keep my hair up all of the time.

That's so interesting, at terminal your length doesn't change anymore, but how about the tapering, do the hair ends get thicker or thinner as the year goes by? Do you microtrim to maintain the ends? What about the shedding, as part of the growing cycle, you shed and grow new hairs at the same time, will the new hair change your pony circumference? I have so many questions as I am also aiming for terminal while collecting my shed along the way, I'll probably have one or two heads worth of hair when I reach knee lol (I've been collecting sheds for over a year now and have got over 30,000 hairs sorted out and there are way more to come.)
