Default On uploading pictures into a blog...

Hi! I haven't been able to find this in searching around, so I'm hoping somebody can let me know, or point me in the right direction When you have a blog here, can you upload pictures directly from your computer desktop, or do they still need to be on a third party image hosting site like PhotoBucket?

Also, once you've gotten an image into your blog, can you then add it to LHC threads? (For example, if I put a braid pic in my blog, could I then share that image in the braid picture thread?)

I hope this is the right place to post this... I have been thinking of starting a blog to track my progress while the albums are down, but I wanted to make sure I understood how they worked before starting

Yes, you still have to upload your picture from computer to a photo sharing site, like Photobucket, then into your blog. Ditto for the image into the Braid Picture Thread.

You can't copy a picture directly from your blog to a forum post. You have to get it from Photobucket again. Be sure to copy the line that says IMG to get the actual picture.

    I use Photobucket.

Hi, RapunzelKat! I use Photobucket and just sent you a PM with more details.

If that doesn't help, then you might find your answer here:

Aaaargh! I am STILL trying to upload a decent sized photo from Photobucket onto a thread on LHC! All it does is put the small size up NO MATTER WHAT I DO!!!! I am about to throw this PC out the window!

HEEELP!!! PLEEASE!!! Why is this so difficult? I have tried to resize them on PB and that works, but when I copy it, it Still comes out small!

Are you copying a URL to the thumbnail or to the full sized picture?

Here's a test: Copy a URL to a photo on Photobucket. Open a new browser window and paste the URL into the address bar. If it takes you to the full sized image, then great. Use that in a post.

If you use it in the post and it appears small after, refresh the page so that it reloads the temporary internet files on your computer. It might be using a previously saved version and needs a refresh to display the larger size.

If that doesn't work, feel free to let me (and us) know and we'll totally work to get you up and running.

I have been copying the URL to the thumbnail. When I click on the picture on PB to enlarge it and then click on the URL to copy it, (ie, the large version,)it won't let me do it, it just says "copied" and won't let me copy and paste the large version.

What do you mean by "open a new window?" Where? How? (sorry I must seem like a real idiot here) - think I need more instructions. I bet it's really easy - most online things are once someone has shown you what to you, lol. Thank you for taking time to help, I appreciate it.

I'll head over to where you've been testing on the Test Board to give some pointers.
