I dont own any quatro toys, but I have to say that is the most perfect figure 8 I think I have ever saw!!!!
This thread is about Ron Quattro's hairtoys. I've always found threads were several people have posted pictures and comments about certain hairtoys/tools very helpful, threads like the Ficcare colour thread, and I hope others will find this thread useful.
I only own metal Quattro hair tools and what I really like about these metal sticks and forks is that they're very slim. I have both fine and slippery hair and when I do a twisted bun, like a cinnamon bun, I need to twist quite tight, too loose and it will fall down immidiately. A thick wood stick just pushes these buns apart for me, a slim metal stick/fork works much better. I also like the fact that most of the sticks are really simple looking, the toppers are quite simple and still quite elegant.
From the left: single Cobalt FlexStix (5"), single BodyGem SteelStick (5"), pair of StarLite Serpentines (5"), pair of StarLite Helix sterling silver topped sticks (6"), helix SteelSticks with faux ivory hearts (4.5"?), pair of SteelSticks with Antler BodyGems (4"), 5" StarLite fork, 4" StarLite fork.
I think my all time favourites are these StarLite Serpentines.

I am a huge Quattro fan. When I first joined LHC, I think I searched for and read every single thread with the word "Quattro" in it. Several times. There were quite a few threads to get through. This will be great to again have lots of photos all in one spot; I never get sick of his work, be it in either metal or wood.
I do prefer metal hairsticks and forks, for similar reasons to aisling. I also damp bun a LOT, so I've shied away from using many wooden hair accessories. For that reason, I've never tried Ron's wooden hairforks/sticks, although they also look lovely.
These photos are from last month. It took a lot of effort to find and gather all of these together, heh - usually they are scattered about, one in each location, be it a handbag/ camera bag/ car/ bathroom/ kitchen/ desk etc.
Plain ones:
(shortest u-pins on right are 3"; very left hand stick is over 6")
Decorated ones:
(nearly all the sticks are 6" usable; forks are a little shorter)
And an older photo, but with good detail (clicky):

WOW! These are all gorgeous!
Rae, How do you like your wavy-tined fork (I think it might be called a helix or double helix)? Does it hold better than the straight ones? Thanks.
Thank you for starting this thread, Aisling! Lots of awesome hairtoys already - Rae, I think we have a similar taste
I just forced DH to take some pics, here they are:
more soon...

QUESTION: the plain U shaped ones do you use them like a fork? I was always curious about them

In the last picture that stick to the far right is amazing. And I love the kitty =)

H*** c*** trollkjerring, I was going to post my pics but now I feel:
My OMG-green-eyed-monster list:
- my collection is a bit puny in comparison (and the pictures I took were rubbish... going to have to retake them when kitty has finished sitting on me).
- exceedingly jealous about some of those... I check his shop regularly, I can't believe I missed them. They're gorgeous! *huge wail*
Those especially are above and beyond what he normally lists in terms of uniqueness.
- the bronze wavy one with what looks like Aries horn symbol
- the ones that look like bo-peep hooks (does that make sense?)
- the single stick that has the leaves and the mother of pearl type stone.
- kitty (gorgeous!) pic... the two on the right...
