    Default Hairspray...

Light mist of hairspray over hair that's in big rollers prior to taking them out... is this a no no?

It wouldn't be a no no for me. Hair sprays contain alcohol. So if you are phobic about alcohols being bad or drying to your hair then yes, it might be a no no for you. I'd do it as I only very rarely set mine and once in a while isn't going to hurt anything.

If you don't use hairspray everyday, it's not a big problem. if your her gets dry, you could use oil. I sometimes use hairspray, i can't see any negativ consequences untill now.

I'm not a hairspray fan, but I think the bigger no-no would be to brush or comb the hair while the spray is still in it, since this could hurt the hair (where are Nightshade's scary hairspray electron micrographs?). Washing before combing might be wise.

I use alcohol-free hairspray several times a week on my fringe and haven't seen any negative effects.

I'm using hairspray with much alcohol, and i'm brushing at the evening to get it out. I don't think it's destroying my hair, but i wouldn't use it every day, my hair is more dry then normal, so i need to use more iol.

Thank you for the replies; I just checked and alcohol is the 1st listed ingredient , but I did a light mist around my head anyway... It's expensive hairspray and I've used it once prior to just now. (stopped using it few months ago because I joined LHC)

I dont but my hair holds waves from thinking about it. If you need it a little can go along way or try a spray gel. Or maybe you could use AVG before you put the curlers in

    Right here!!!

The first photo shows the hair held in place by hairspray, the second shows the shell left by the hairspray after the two hairs have been pulled apart. Note the impression of the cuticle scales left behind.
