Default in need of a trim

I desperately need a trim. I haven't trimmed or cut my hair since August and at that time I still had about 1 inch of damage left from my salon disaster. It was starting to look ok, but recently it is looking pretty bad again. I guess I am going to break down and get about a 1/4 inch trim of all my layers. I am so scared that the 1/4 inch is going to look noticable and make my hair look even shorter.

1/4 inch grows back in about 2 weeks. Having fresh ends that make you happy is worth 2 weeks of growth, in my opinion.

Make sure you go to a hair stylist who knows exactly what 1/4 inch is. I might suggest you go to a barber. It's no fuss, no muss, and they are used to dealing with fractions of an inch.

    Good luck!

This is my my first day on the LHC:

This is me a week later, after a 1" trim:

Yes, it's been flat-ironed in the second picture, but as you can see, there's practically no noticeable loss of length, and that's an inch trim. A quarter inch on your hair won't be that noticeable, and, yes, it's worth it for nice ends. I just self-trimmed myself and couldn't imagine how nice my hair feels now with fresh ends.

there really is not much of a difference..I am going to do the 1/4 inch maybe even 1/2 inch this week. I trust my hair dresser that I now have, she knows I am growing my hair out and when I asked for a dusting that is exactly what I got.
