Hi :]
I've never done a scalp wash. I tried once, and it was a bit of a disaster.
Now, I know there are some expert scalp-washers here, and since I'm not one of them, I'd like to know how you do it! Hints! Tips! Methods!
Please?![]()

Long hair hiatus: short hair for now, buzzcut!
I turn my head upside down, grab the hair with my left hand and coil the length around hand. I lift my head back up, holding the hair above my head. Using my right hand I wet the hair around scalp and apply either diluted shampoo with an old dye bottle (it has a small pointy tip) or rub a shampoo bar straight to scalp. Then I massage a bit and rinse.
I try to do this all very quickly before my left hand goes numb.![]()
I use the same method as Sceleste. I have to wash my scalp every day (since puberty) otherwise it looks like somebody poured oil on it![]()
Here's a good scalp washing thread from the archive.![]()
I never tried doing this as my scalp isn't really oily. But now I see a distinct advantage from the very last post in that thread.
Hang the braid on a hook over the sink.
I can hang it in the shower and I won't have to wet my length or go numb trying to hold it!!
WOOOOTT!!!
Thank y'all!!
Love and Hugs,

I do it while soaking in a hot tub and submerged in the water. My hair floating around loosely gives me better access to my scalp instead of standing up in a shower or with wet hair plastered down my back.
