    Default Winter Hair

My wife and I have similar hair types, and in Winter it's so much more pleasant to deal with. Smoother, softer, more controlable, and straighter in general. I'm sure lower humidity has everything to do with it, but maybe cooler temps have an effect of some kind. I often looked forward to Winter when my wife was the only one with longer hair. Now I look forward to it for myself too. Anyone else have better hair in Winter?

Um...no. My hair takes after me. It loves summer heat and high humidity, being free to go for walks or a mermaidy swim at the beach, and doesn't like wind or cold

Yes, indeed. Where I live it is humid with sea breezes all year, but in summer we get the heat as well. I have curly hair, so it basically looks like it exploded unless I wear it braided or in a bun.
In winter it is better behaved, shinier, and nice and cosy.

Ha ha! We replied at the same time but said opposite things. I'm probably projecting my own likes/dislikes onto my hair, an innocent bystander.

    Interesting observation!

Where I live, the average humidity is ~ 50-65% all year round. We have radiator heating systems that are really drying and window unit air conditioning that is super wet.

My hair doesn’t like the cold and dry so much - gets very staticky and rather poorly behaved! I suspect it’s the swing between cold & damp outside/warm & dry inside and that inspires the snarls.

I definitely enjoy my hair more in the winter, although winter here in south Texas isn't as extreme as other places we've lived in the past. I can't wear my hair down at all during the summer in the Texas heat. I'm looking forward to a little cool down soon though.

Better winter hair? If I lived in a country that isn't as cold as Sweden is, then perhaps it would be.
Late spring to early summer is what my hair like the best.

I live in a cold country and I don't experience any change in my hair in the winter vs. summer except that my hair dries faster in the summer.

The worst time for me is the spring when the temperature suddenly gets higher and thus makes the relative humidity low for a moment, resulting in terrible static electricity. I get so many electric shocks then from my dogs also!

My hair's definitely happier in winter, what with all the silk scarves and hats it gets to wear all the time! Also, I'm better about proper nutrition when it's cold, so that may be part of it lol

My hair feels better in winter too! Smoother, shinier, less sweat/oil from the heat. I wonder if hair type has to do with it. I have 1a/2c Fine II hair
