No Trimming 2025!

Hello LHCers! welcome No Trims 2025 for the whole year!
make sure to read below to participate!

For this challenge, the no-trimming period is 11th January 2025 until 31st December 2025
In order to participate, you need to trim at the latest January 10th 2025.
Challenge ends on December 31st 2025

No trims are allowed during this half of the year for you to be part of this challenge.

Here's some easy guidelines for you:

You may maintain bangs
You may not cut them in.
You may not add or maintain layers
You may not trim.
You may S&D (search and destroy)

Hi,
I would love to tackle that challenge! Not sure, if I can maintain that, but love to try! Can you explain to me what "S&D" stands for?

Mira Lynne, S&D stands for Search And Destroy. Some of us here, rather than getting our hair trimmed, will just trim off individual hairs above the damage if we see a split end. Split ends can travel up the rest of the hair their on, the whole thing slowly splitting in half. It's a way to retain length, but still get rid of damage for those that are prone to splits.

Edit: Hehe, forgot to mention, count me in on the no trim challenge for 2025, too!

naturally I'm in again I've been waiting to do this for 3 years, lets see how I go, the longest I've gone without a trim was 6 months

Thank you so much for explaining that. That is something I probably should do more, since I have many split ends, but found it so tedious to do^^ But I also don't want to loose any length right now, since it took so much to get to where I am ^^

I wanted to go on vacation next yea r (autumn) and trim my hair nicely before that, but well, let's see, if I can go with no trimming for a year.

I used to never get splits, but I have had a couple recently, so my experience with S&D has been to just snip two at a time, rather than have a lengthy session. Just spending 5 or so minutes on it a week is probably fine, a lot of S&D fans admit it can be hard to not overdo it because...well it's engaging and satisfying once you get into it! Like crochet or something.
