This poll is inspired by this thread: Odd reasons you want longer hair! It's totally worth reading and contributing to--there are many more unique and entertaining reasons than I have room to include here. It's a good read! As the thread progressed, it became clear that some of the "odd" reasons were actually rather common. I want to know, how common? I'm thirsty for numbers!
So I went through the thread and tried my best to distill out the ten oddest, and yet also seemingly common, reasons. Sometimes I've combined similar reasons into one poll option. Feel free to elaborate on your reasons here and/or at the thread linked to above!

Couldn't vote as I felt none of the options fully explain my reason for wanting long hair/growing out my hair, so I'm reposting what I posted in the Odd reasons you want longer hair thread. For me, part of it is that the last time my hair was long was in early grade school, and I've had between mid-neck and almost collar bone for all of my teens and got tired of having shorter hair. The other part is that I feel women were always meant to have long hair.

I think I chose four options but out of all of them I think the best one for me is to prove to myself and others that I can. I feel like everyone wants me to have short hair, like my family. But it isn't who I am. I do want to prove that I can have long hair.
