What do you call starting length

*checks profile* erm, it seems I never decided! My starting length before long hair was a neck-length bob at age 6 or so, then grew it out, but I didn't know how to care for my hair other than shampoo and conditioner. Throughout my teens and 20s I was stuck at hip~tbl because I needed the damage chopped off every year. When I discovered LHC I was around tailbone length, and when I joined it looks like it might have been around classic. I think tailbone length, when I started to learn how to care for my hair, might make the most sense actually, thinking about it.

Edit: filling in the box, the instructions underneath say "The length of your hair when you first started growing"

which might be straightforward for some people, but if you have a complicated hair history, maybe not!

I smile at that instruction. My hair started growing some point in the womb: it was black in colour and my next hair was somewhere in the blonette-tawny range, but... my way of reading the instructions, mixing with the thought that hair is always growing, would have us all at growing from bald!

Around chin length was the shortest I ever had my hair. It was cut this short to chop off split end damage after running down my hair with a razor comb. I used to cut my hair out of frustration/stress so I was never able to grow my hair how I wanted. I made it my goal to grow TBL when I was at APL in early 2019, but was getting frequent trims around this time to get rid of heat damage, so it stayed APL until beginning 2020 when I finally got serious about growing it. Currently between BSL & MBL

Starting length for me is whenever was my last hair cut. Which I tend to update from time to time depending on when I've "restarted" my journey. You know, like starting over in a game.
