I hennaed my hair for the first time yesterday.

This is what it looked like pre-henna:

This morning after henna - with flash:

    Without flash:

I'm looking forward to seeing how the colour develops further over the next few days as it oxidises - I also hope we get some decent sunshine so I can take some photos in the sun for a more true comparison!

    You have beautiful hair.
I want your color. Which type of henna do you use and what's your natural color?

I must say, I'm very pleased with how my hair's turned out; I've been taking photos daily as the colour oxidises, and this is how it's gone:

This has been my first time trying henna, and I must say I'm a total convert. My hair is softer and silkier than before henna, and I'm very pleased with the colour - particularly with the way it "flames" in sunshine! Well worth all the mess, I feel. I even love the smell of freshly-hennaed hair; it's the smell of freshly-mown green hay.

i admittedly was slightly confused on how it turned so dark . but it looks now like what it should and it looks great. and the conditioning affects are absolutely addictive too

    my hair now-
it won't got dark how ever much henna you put in. i've come to hennas limitations.
    but i'm happy with it.
happy sunny henna which does have a tendency to jump on me- it's bright! no light colour - darkest shade
    my general honest colour

you can probably understand why it's so hard to explain the colour because there are so many red spectrum colours involved but to be honest i love all these shade.

what i don't understand is people have said that this colour is "cold"and i personally see any shade red as warm as in fire colours-

most hair variation has a red colour of sorts except gray and white colorations.
can someone explain this in way i may understand this term?

Well, red would obviously always be a warm color (blues, greens and such are called cold colors), but there are shades of red. Some of them are warm, closer to orange in the spectrum, and there are colder reds which are closer to purple/violet in the spectrum, thus making them look colder in comparison. Not all reds, oranges and yellows are warm, they have their own cold tones, as well as cold colors have their own warm variations.
Your hair in the completely dark light settings present colder red color than the pic in the sun. Can you see it being colder in comparison?
