I think I've graduated back to the APL-to-BSL thread!

    Length photo taken tonight:

What do y'all think? A couple of people said they thought I was about APL last month, but it didn't quite look APL to me in the mirror, but I'm also tall so what would be APL on a shorter person wouldn't quite be there on me.

ETA: Excuse my messy living room, LOL!

    Best wishes and happy growing!

Ugh, I'm starting to get chopping urges. My hair looks bad on me today and I'm getting sick of it at this length. I have to put it up for work, so I'm sick of ponytails, and my flexi8 doesn't keep all my hair up if I put it in a peacock twist because some of it just still isn't long enough for that.

My absolutely most trustworthy method for hairstyles at this length are bobby pins. Mini claw clips work super well too. You don't need anything expensive or hard to find tools if you don't want to put money into that kind of things. That being said a hair tool that is suitable for the job you want it to do and is relatively good quality, does make your life easier.
I bought the Vidal Sasson Avian Clip & love it! My hair still slips at times but works well enough for my needs. I think I'm bobby pin challenged. My hair rejects them.

Yes, it is very much appreciated!!

Just think how it will feel when your patience pays off! What I tell myself to get through is just 2 more weeks, that's it 2 more weeks. As you can tell I've been growing out bangs. 2 weeks can make a world of difference.
I have those under bits that will not stay up in a high ponytail at night. I call them my naughty hairs.

Congrats to the new APL-ers and welcome to all new SL-ers!

I read this thread all the time, just don't have anything interesting to say. For me it's always "yay no more henna" "love seeing my waves" and "it's too short to do anything cool with it". *shurg*

So I've been doing Cassia treatments monthly to curve my henna cravings, it's been working well so far. I've also been testing out African black soap to try and keep my dandruff under control, its a work in progress. Almost two weeks ago I took a length photo which gives me hope, but the layers are killing me at this length. A few months ago they were great because my hair was too short to even think about them, now its long enough to make me realize I cant do a braid that stays together for more than 30 min, even though with my all one length hair I could braid at shoulder with no problems. But after taking many long breaths I realize I like them just fine, it's only braids that I miss. Man, I love me a good braid.

My layers give me braiding problems too, Roscata. I've been doing twin braids, because I hate the shorter pieces that fall into my face when I do a single braid.

My update isn't that amazing. I thought I was really close to APL, but I took a length shot and it looks like I'm still on track to hit it around July. I'm going to start doing more caffeine rinses and scalp massages. I'm staying patient, but also excited to be getting closer to meeting this next goal.

Hi, I think I am here now..my longest layer is at shoulder! I do not like it down, so have been pinning up in sections or doing a small, loose pony lately. Haven't done the braiding much because it would have to be pretty tight braids to keep under layer up.
Also, trying to stretch washes to help with growing, but it tends to get a weighted down, or floppy look when I do.
