I'm probably not going to call mine until it is APL air dried, but probably I will call it on a less-curly day

...mostly because I know otherwise I'll be at the APL to BSL thread for hmmmm a year -_-

Welcome Alien Girl ! I too did allll the bleaching and colors for a while. You might want to look into microtrimming to even out your hair while it grows

That way you don't have to wait til you can fix it.

I've been doing the inversion challenge and I've decided to just go by body markers when measuring my hair because the measuring tape method just fails me. But maybe I will get to APL quicker doing this every month...

EastBound&Down your hair looks like its covered a couple of new stripes!

I'm curious, my not-quite-APL friends, about growth goals: What is your eventual goal and why? Do you plan to keep it virgin growth or to dye some or all of it? How about hemline? I realize we all may be somewhat far from our goals but talking about it can be fun.

For me, I dyed with henna for a bit but for the rest of my growth journey I want to let my virgin hair grow out again. I thought I wanted waist, but... I think maybe my ideal length is classic. Since I've never had hair past BSL I'm going to start with waist though

As for hemlines I'm going to let it do whatever the heck it wants, as fairy ends are somewhat appealing to me and I'm 99% certain that my hair grows unevenly so a straight hemline would just make me crazy...

I was amazed when I compared the two pictures, very pleased. I think my coffee masks might be working their magic

As for your questions:

My long term goal is TBL, I know I can handle it that length (been there before). This time I will have virgin, healthy hair and rock what nature gave me! Henna is good for some, but I don't think it is for me.

I just let my hair do what it wants (because it doesn't listen to me anyway haha) but I've always had a pretty thick hemline regardless, I am partial to straight hemlines, they just look so neat and tidy

I'd like to hit waist and grow out my bangs and then see if I'd like to keep growing from there. I have classic in mind, but I've never had my hair beyond MBL and classic is intimidating. Keeping it virgin. I ended up using henna last time and so much regret.

U-hem, slightly layered for me.

I just took a pic to check on length and I seem to be about an inch, inch and a half away from APL.

I want to grow to hip or tailbone probably. I am growing out my natural color but I do plan on using temporary crazy color dyes but nothing permanent. For hemline I'm not too sure, probably let it do what it wants. I like the look of u and v cuts but don't know if I want that so I can pull my hair in front and be the same length.

I'm trying to get virgin hair, maybe? I've been questioning myself on that lately.

I'm torn between a soft u or straight hemline, and also between long layers or no layers. I'm very undecided at the moment lol.

I'd like to eventually get to waist curly, I don't think I'd like longer, I may settle for BSL curly/waist stretched.

I'll start with getting to virgin long layers in a soft u at curly BSL first, then see how I feel with that. Maybe grow to curly waist, then maintain there to lose the layers.

eta: Why? I just think it would look pretty, and I've always thought waist length was that perfect ratio of long and still easy to manage.
