Whoa, we got some gnarly braids in here! The most I can handle is this Dutch braid.

There are so many beautiful braids here! I have a very simple offering by comparison but I know we all have to start somewhere.

I can't seem to do a single English braid... I can French/Dutch braid but for some reason I have such a hard time with a simple braid... they always end up baggy at the nape. I've watched several videos and practiced, braiding tighter, braiding looser and still, every single time it's pouchy at the nape. Maybe I have a strangely shaped head But today (on my 5th try!) I was able to do one that I wore outside of the house Very simple and silly but I am thrilled!

I love the color of your hair, Neecola! That is a very pretty braid, too.

I think the problem of "bagging" is due to both tension and the position of your hands. I often found that holding them in a certain position, rather than just down, helped tighten up the braid. Keep practicing!

Madora, you are too kind. Thanks for the encouragement! I will keep experimenting with the hand positions.

Don't feel bad jepiterinleo. I'll be tickled pink when my hair reaches your length and I can accomplish a nice braid like yours. Although mine wont be as thick

    So many beautiful braids!

caromarpie, that braid is awsome! I am jealous!

jupiterinleo, that is one beautiful dutch braid. It looks so full and even!

And Neecola, I have the same problem with bagging at the nape. Its annoying for sure. But your braid is great! Not baggy at all. I have to experiment with hand positions too.

Yesterdays updo, braided ladder bun. Visible pins, but the picture was taken at the end of the day so..
