In my house we are collectively "the community."
As in "how's the community today?"

When I refer to LHC to my SO or family I always say 'my hair forum people'.

My family think it's silly, my SO has heard more about the non-hair things I'm learning about here so he understands it's more about hair buddies than just hair.

Last week SO said something to me about how my hair has been this long since I've been dating him!

I was MBL when we got together!!!

My DH calls ya'll the "hairy people" or "hair people". As in "are you talking to your hair people again?"

Background: J, G, A and I have all been friends since kindy. J, G and I all ended up going to the same state high school, and A went to a private (Catholic) high school.

At my high school graduation dinner, I invited J, and G invited A, who I hadn't seen for about 6 years. G told me during the dinner about this conversation;

A: So what's Tosca like these days?

G: She's very protective of her hair.

Yes. So much yes.

I was at the dentist today getting a crown. Afterwards the dentist and assistant saw my loose hair (my bun had become untidy).

The dentist said "Wow, your hair is so long, it is really your Crowning Glory".

The assistant gawped and said "Wow, I had thought my hair was long (gesturing at BSL) - but yours is so much longer..."

They then wanted to know when I last cut it

I was at a Christmas lunch today and had my hair in a sectioned braided bun. One of the ladies asked me how long my hair was and when I showed her she remarked that her grandmother always used to say to her that if you wear your hair in a braid it means you will live to be 100.
