Just curious

Just looked at his shop an he says natural paua and pink, green, purple etc. so I guess all but the natural multi colored paua shells have been dyed. Nothing wrong with that, I was simply being curious
I am 99% sure that the colored paua is dyed.

    Thanks for your input, Kherome.

I guess it would have been just too amazing if nature had produced so many different colored shells. But then again you never know, because mother nature is pretty amazing and comes up with things you wouldn't have thought was even possible.

Oh, the paua shell? That is dyed. The pearls are usually dyed as well. I actually think the dyes are really cool, because with dyes, there is no need to deplete the Earth of rare things, you can just dye it that color. Plus the dyes come in LOTS of colors. Even things you could not find in nature.

This is not to say that Doug does not use the natural colors as well, he does. But, for example, there are no purple pearls. They are dyed that color, and a very beautiful color it is, too!
