I'm a bit frustrated today. I said to a friend that my hair is starting to get long enough that you can tell it has a and she said ahh yes Mousy Brown

If I had the funds I'd be going to the nearest chemist to get bleach developer, there is nothing worse ( for me) having the hair color of the common mouse/rat. It's bad enough having hazel eyes the color of mud z

I know she didn't mean to upset me but it's so frustrating how hard is it to day Ash Brown???

I'm unsure why mice in particular have been picked out to represent the tone, because it's simply the "standard" colouring of many wild animals: agouti. Except agouti hairs typically have a banded colour, at least some of them.

I prefer to call it something like wild or protective colouring. Mine sure would hide me well in the Finnish woods.

Mousy Brown? Well, my old boss used to say his hair was the color of an "old summer's groundhog".

Now that you mention Mousy Brown, I think that's probably what color my hair is right now: it's going gray and has some whitish streaks, but that's all intermixed with brownish. It is what it is, I'm not planning to color it - that's such a pain to keep up with, and the growing out is often quite annoying.

My random thought is that I caught rain yesterday and today as well and now my hair is so frizzy!

I don't know why this happens to me and not everybody else, my hair gets soooo frizzy when I catch rain so much that I have to wash it again

You're not the only one. That happened to me yesterday, and I was only out in the rain long enough to get from my office to my car

I've heard it called "viltfarget" in Norwegian! "Wild coloured" sounds a lot nicer than "mousy brown" to me, even if it is still referring to animals.

That's nice! Well, we are animals, so why shouldn't the same hair colour terminology apply to us.

Probably because most people don't like mice and rats and they use mousy as undesirable and that rats are a dime a dozen and usually brown
