I tried to find the "Because I can" option. Oh well. I'm literally doing it because I can. Plus, I think I look better with longer hair. I'm also a big fan of celtic history, and enjoy incorporating the old into modern things.
So that I can wear nothing, yet cover everything with my hair
I want to look like a mermaid/elf/mythical creature/princess/anime character/Renaissance painting
To defy cultural stereotypes and expectations
I want to be able to use my hair as a weapon
For warmth, to wear as a blanket/coat/scarf
I really want to become (or now enjoy being) an old woman with long, flowing silver/white hair
I like big buns and I cannot lie!
I love the feeling of my hair brushing against my body, lower and lower down
To prove (to myself or others) that I can, or out of a sense of competition or defiance
To look more femme, and less butch or boyish
I chose; cultural stereotypes, an old woman with long, flowing silver/white hair, and the feeling of my hair brushing against my body. My Mom has beautiful, long flowing white hair so she's my hair idol. Eventually mine will look just like hers which is so exciting! The tactile feeling of hair is also very important to me. Great poll!

I really just want to be an anime character.

Most important to me is "Defying cultural stereotypes" and "proving that I can," which is very significant in a world where men today rarely have long hair, especially even up to classic and beyond lengths.
It's a science experiment on my head!
I like the silver one best
Because I don't like/ can't be bothered with getting my hair cut at salons
I want long, flowing silver hair. I have been growing my hair out for several years, with the goal of 100% virgin gray hair at waist by age 60. My daughter gave me a gift certificate to a beauty salon from Christmas, and I went in 2 weeks ago and had a big chop. I had her cut off the last 10 inches of blond hair dye. Good-bye Miss Clairol!
When I was growing up in the 1950's and '60's, long hair for girls was unknown amongst our social circle and almost up to my early teens I was a bit of a tom,boy who thought long hair was 'cissy' anyway. My Mum - aged 81 - has never had long hair in her life and considers anything past collar-length to be long hair.
Now that I'm in my late 50's I thought why not? My husband would prefer I had my hair short and blonde with layers in, but I'm just not a 'blonde' type of person. I wear my hair long because I like the feel of it and because I can.
I like big buns and I cannot lie! I had to vote when I saw that as an option! Of course it's true, as many of the others are for me. I like the look of long hair especially (and I like to look like I could be a part of Middle Earth, etc), and of course I feel the need to defy cultural expectations. If I lost all of my hair due to some issue, my plan is to leave my head bald or shave it and tattoo my scalp with intricate designs- no wigs or old lady hairdos for me! Either long grey/white/silver hair or bald and tattooed as an old lady!
I also really enjoy feeling my hair against my body, and it is always exciting when I suddenly realize it is brushing lower than before.
Back when my hair was much longer I joked about using as a weapon (and indeed once accidentally hit someone in the face with my braid end once), but that is not one of my reasons for growing it long.
