Ahhh, nice to meet you! Egyptian/Moroccan (/Syrian/Portuguese) here : D Though I feel like the lion's share of the "cultural influence" in our household came from my mother's family, which is the Egyptian side.

ETA: I also spent the first fourteen years of my life just across from the New Mexico border! Recently moved back to the Southwest after a long absence. I've missed it <3

Every time I leave the SW I miss how laid back it is. SW is the best imo lol

No kidding! I'm still having to travel quite a bit for work, so this week I'm in the South. I spent a lot of years here, and despite that I still feel stressed when dealing with folks here because it seems like there are all these unwritten social rules that I'm still just guessing at and trying not to leave somebody miffed. New England is only worse, lol. I love getting to feel like I can really relax and be myself when I'm back home.
