A recipe for gelatin treatment is the first in the list on this page: http://science-yhairblog.blogspot.co...-projects.html

And an updated version (thicker): http://science-yhairblog.blogspot.co...pe-update.html
Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...

I don't think it matters but just to be on the safe side I buy the blue/purple one because I try to minimize the red tones in my hair. If you were blonde or if your hair easily picks up dye color deposit might be an issue? I tried to dye my hair with Kool Aide as a kid and had zero success...

You can buy flavorless gelatin but honestly I just use Jello. Dissolve between 1 tsp to ??? Tbsp (depending on thickness/length/desired strength) in maybe a scant 1/4 cup hot water, mix with a goodly chunk of conditioner, throw it on your head, leave it on maybe ten maybe fifteen minutes, rinse out.
I also use jello. Something citrusy most of the time, but any flavour goes, honestly. I do have some flavourless gelatin right now I had bought to experiment with mirror glazes. Might divert that to hair care

Inspired by this thread I tried using eggs as protein treatment today, I am quite happy with the results!

I used (found this recipe somewhere in this thread):
2 eggs beaten and poured through a sieve to remove clumps
    1 tsp lemon juice
    1 tsp honey
a few drops of tee tree oil (my scalp has been acting up a bit lately)

Massaged into towel dry hair. I let that sit in my hair for about 40 minutes under a shower cap.
Rinsed and used a little bit of conditioner, no shampoo needed. Also ACV rinse.

My hair feels stronger and like it has "more weight" to it, a tiny bit frizzy, but my hair always behaves like that after a protein treatment. It should look better tomorrow.
I think the lemon juice in the recipe is there to prevent hair from smelling like eggs, worked really well. My hair smells fresh and clean.

Think I will repeat this procedure when needed, we have an abundance of fresh high quality eggs now, we just got our own hens.

Lets see how long this little lump can get. Viva la natural!

Did an egg protein treatment today, same way as mentioned above ^

Still loving the results! My hair has been poofy, frizzy and floofy lately :P The eggs really took care of that!

Making sure to rinse thoroughly and using a moisturizing conditioner to avoid that dreaded protein dry brittleness. I once did a protein treatment - it was a deep conditioning treatment, without using another conditioner after rinsing and my hair was a mess. Lesson learned.
