Also, if one has a scalp smell, cutting hair won't change what's ting on at the scalp. Maybe a bit more air gets through.

    Nevertheless, she persisted.

My question for you is, do you hang out in places that would make your hair smell... for example, in the kitchen you can pick up greasy smells or spicy smells, which smell heavenly while you're cooking/eating, but afterwards, ick.

Or are you around smokers either at home or at work? I find smoky scents definitely get trapped in the hair. Even a little bit of exposure can really "stick."

There's one convenience store near my house that I flat out refuse to go in. They have a grill and make pizza and burgers and stuff, plus smokers hang around outside, and they're usually inside, too! When leaving that place, even after a few minutes, my hair stinks so bad that I cannot stand it! My friends worked there and then when I picked them up from work, I could barely stand the smell on their hair and clothes.

I did find a product called GudonyaToo, through etsy, who has intensely scented products. Their conditioner will leave a scent in my hair for a couple of days, compared to hours from the drug-store stuff...

I wash my hair every second day, like, tuesday, thursday etc. I do it with non-scented shampoo and conditioner (since I don't want the shampoo smell mix with my coconut oil smell)

Not sure if it's my scalp to be blamed since I can't really smell it myself I'll definitely ask someone to do it for me c:<
ALSO, even if I manage to somehow make my hair smell more or less okay the TIPS are still smelling bad! Does it mean something or should I just put even more perfume on them?

Ohhh! Coconut oil often starts to smell gross after a while. Kind of sour. If it's that... time to use less coconut oil, or to put something in it to mask the smell?
Mine is mixed with rosemary and cedarwood oil and it smells nice

Yep... since you've told us your routine, and that the tips smell, I'd guess it's the COil. You could try exactly what two-wheels suggested and scent it to your taste, or look at Monoi oil, I think it is called, which comes pre-scented.

Can it be a water problem? Do you have town/ city water or well water, and do you have a filter? We have well water & it starts to smell funky when it's time for the filter to be changed. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a clarifying/ chelating shampoo to see if perhaps there might be something in your hair that is making it smell bad, either your water or some kind of product residue. It could in fact be coconut oil residue if you are saying you can smell it in the tips. You can get a bottle of Ultra Swim shampoo for under $5, and Paul Mitchell has a clarifying/ chelating shampoo 3 that comes in a trial size if you don't want to spend money on a whole bottle of something. People on this board also really seem to like Joico chelating, you can find that one at Ulta. Good luck!
