Is it me or is LHC super laggy lately

Firefox on desktop here. The forums have been really laggy for at least a week, but it seems almost normal now. This isn't the first time in recent history either; this seems to be a problem that comes and goes periodically.

On a Chromebook and finding the same. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with how busy the site is either.

LHC was interesting for me too. I wasn't able to log in for most of this week....but just now, it worked.

Just curious if any of the lovely mods or admins might know what is causing the site to be slow for people these past couple of months? While I was using the search function to look for this thread I noticed back in 2014 people were having a similar issue. It takes about thirty seconds to a minute for pages to load for me, sometimes pages will time out and not load at all. Not the end of the world if I'm looking for specific content, but it's tough to hang out and see what's new on the site.

I've been severely hit by this lag, I haven't been able to post how I usually do since June and it's getting worse not better. so bad in fact I can barely do one post in 10 minutes, I've even had to put it in my signature in case people think I've vanished and its not just my phone and desktop its every browser I've tried firefox, chrome, pale moon, adblocker browser, samsung brower etc. I think it is vBulletin itself plus it is over 20 years old. I strongly suggest finding a new place to host LHC it's getting ridiculous and I'm losing my patience but i hate the idea of quitting :c

I've been experiencing a lot of lag too, on and off. It's not bad right now but I've started getting this strange "503 Service Unavailable The server is temporarily busy, try again later!" message, only when clicking the button that links to the latest post in a thread. If I open the thread normally or on the last page, it's fine. Weird!


Edit: huh, and it just gave me the same error after I posted this reply, as well as in a different thread

I'm also having the 503 error when I try to look at new posts. I tried to quote lapis_lazuli above me and the site was stuck loading 😅

I've also been getting 503 errors.

Another thing I have noticed around the same time the 503 errors started happening, is that after I make a post it sends me to the "Go Advanced" screen instead of back to the thread. If I hit "Submit Reply," it will result in a double post. If anyone else comes across that, just exit out of the page and your original post should already be posted.
