I think it is fading nicely, Sarana, and I can't see any demarcation line between henna and your roots, so it looks very natural.

When I tried to get rid of henna, admittedly my hair was only a very short pixie then, sea water actually helped me. I was on a holiday and after a week of daily soaking in salty sea water, exposing to sun and daily shampooing, almost all henna was gone (except some red glints in the sun).
When it's broken, fix it. When it works, don't change it.

please don't use sunin whatever you do, it actually rots the hair from the inside out, that is what my hair stylist trainer told me and he has had 30+ years in the Industry

welp this was a year too late LOL

I'd be VERY curious to know what he meant by that, like in a scientific sense. Most stylists don't like it because it understandably can react with chemical dyes--it doesn't with henna. The way hair lightening works, ALL methods, is by breaking down the proteins in the hair, but it's not "rotting."

I think similar to what your saying and it continiously lightens your hair until it grows out I'm sure he explained to me but I can't remember for the life of me anymore but the phrasing stuck with me

That makes sense, it's just true for all forms of lightening. When I used Sun-In to get my too dark henna to copper, I got it where it wanted, no damage, and it for sure did not continue to lighten or damage past that point. That was 10+ years ago, and it never changed in the 7 years it took me to grow out the bits I lightened.

Nightshade, your henna knowledge resources have been invaluable during my research, so thank you for providing so much scientific and anecdotal info. I have read the Sun-In blog post several times. And the stuff about strong chemical bonds.

Wow, it looks like it's fading really nicely! I can't even see a big demarcation line or anything, so what you've thrown at it looks like it really helped!

Also, mad props to you for going through that many ColorB4 treatments. I don't know if it's anything like ColorFix, but that smell is something else, I tell you what, haha!

maborosi yeah I did 3 or 4 of them and my hair smelled like eggy farts for weeks, especially when wet. It was very embarrassing during sweaty contact activities such as couple dancing
