I love Organix and have been using it for years now.
I <3 my Chagrin Valley 'poo bars. Right now, I'm using their Chamomile-Citrus, and the smell is awesome, as is the way my hair looks after it's been washed. My hair is definitely wavier now than it was when I used to use Garnier's Fructis line (which has SLS and cones).
I didn't have an adjustment period, though I know some people do. I do use a vinegar rinse.

not sure about favorite but i ordered 'Solay Shine Unscented Natural Shampoo' sounds natural enough and sulfate free, might be my future favorite![]()
I like the Desert Essence organics coconut shampoo--it is sls free but does contain coco-sulfate, and I also like its matching conditioner. I also use the nature's gate organic persimmon and rose geranium S & C, but have to shampoo, add a little water, add a little shampoo, then rinse because it does not suds well enough to get through all my hair. I've also had good luck with diluted Dr. Bronner's mixed with coconut oil (homemade oil shampoo) followed by acv rinse.
So far my favorite sulfate free shampoo is Nature's Gate Herbal Shampoo.
I'm seriously considering buying it again because got my scalp clean but didn't strip my hair or give my fly aways. Most other sulfate free shampoos I tried actually felt more drying than the SLS/SLES variety I normally use.
A close 2nd is Avalon Organics Lavender Shampoo. And that one just basically cleans without stripping but I have SLS/SLES shampoos that do the same.
I love Aubrey Organics Volumizing Chamomile and Jason Kelp shampoo. Both have no SLS and are pretty cleansing. I find that a lot of SLS free shampoos you have to use more of because they don't lather as well.
