I was just thinking that I needed something just like these... but does anyone know of a site that sells them and has reasonable international shipping rates?

Go to Coles, Woolworths or Hot Dollar. Get the long bun pins (Coles brand sell them as "fringe pins"). Use. Enjoy.

I like the ones Hot Dollar sometimes has best; they're a little stiffer. The Coles ones aren't bad, that's what I have at the moment, but they're a little more bendable than I like. Still, six of them hold my thick, waist-length hair all day, so I can't complain!

    O.o What's up with metal?
Flynn, I have severe contact allergies with metals - even the coated ones, like hair pins. My skin's secretions eat right through them! I stick with plastic and wood hair toys. I do love the look of Amish hair pins, I think they would work great for my hair.

Oh, darn, they're metal, as most pins are. I will have to stick with my Good Days. Oh, and basketcase413, they carry Good Days pins at Sally Beauty, in case you have one close to you.
thanks! I need to make a point to stop in one of these days. There is one 35 miles from me, and I do most of my shopping in that city! Thanks for the tip!

Oh great! I am going to try these. I usually use the Amish pins but if these are just as good then I can buy them locally!

That's strange--so do I, but I have no problem with metal or amish hair pins. It might be because they don't fully touch my scalp.

However, put some sort of non-stainless steel necklace on me, and I turn red and burning within a day. I'm even allergic to the aluminum in deodorant.

Well, I tried the Coles bun pins and they didn't do much for me, but Capezio Australia and New Zealand imports Bunheads products and were able to direct me to a store nearby that could order them in. Now I can join the rave for Bunheads hair pins as they are quite sturdy and hold very well.

Adding my voice to the chorus of Bunheads love. Just got them yesterday, after reading about them here. I do love my GHD pins for securing updos after inserting sticks, Ficcares, Flexis, whatever, but neither they nor Amish pins work well for me to hold up an updo all by themselves. Today, I am wearing a Figure 8 bun held only by 3" Bunheads and I am amazed. This bun has been in for nearly 8 hours already and it's not going anywhere.

The Bunheads hair pins are the best hair pins I have ever used. The bun holds all day long and I can't even feel the updo, no pulling at all.

Where did you buy them, trollkjerring?
Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.
