Sorry to break it for you, Bat, but bleaching actually increases porosity and gives better wave/ curl
In this aspect it's just the opposite of henna. I know curly people that got to such levels of healthy, low porosity hair from henna and overall good hair care, that they were doing bleach to get controlled damage and better curls

Just had my neck trimmed after three months of growth from my last pixie cut. It is SO wild how curly my hair is now. In the last two years, my hair has become VERY curly and it is not something I'm used to. I'm going to try the Curly Girl method I think to see if it locks in the curls better. I'm not getting a neck trim again until late December. I'm doing every three months just to get the mullet chopped to have a smoother grow out process.

age/hormonal change can change texture mine started changing in my 30s, I'd like to be able to accept the change like you are but alas I'm a straight hair at heart, I used to be 1b when younger now it's probably 2a/2b

I don't like my color OR texture, so I realllly struggle with growing it.
Around the 2020-2021 as soon as it was long enough for a keratin I got one, and I believe that helped me get it to cbl at the time

The first applications of henna will enhance curl pattern, especially if hair is damaged, because it's the hair getting healthier. You would need several layers of henna to start experiencing loosening of curls/waves.

Yeee lmao it's half of the reason why I stopped using henndigo I was doing it to relax texture and the smell and time I had to keep it on my head were also the other reasons ( and being bored with black hair)

I'll probably be here for a bit. Last time I grew my buzz cut out, I didn't trim it... at... all... it was rough, so I'm never doing that again. I'll probably trim around my ears a little, then my neck (just thinking of the most annoying places for me). I like the mop-top look on me, so that'll probably be my first "goal".
